Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, but it is also Ash Wednesday which begins Lent. Both days celebrate love, our love for a spouse or family member and Jesus’ great love for us, but do they require sacrifice? I think they do, and sacrifice requires love.
Can you imagine God weeping, knowing that He loves us that much, He would shed tears? We mean all eternity to Him. Wow, do you comprehend the enormity of that statement? How our hearts need to cry with exuberance, our souls sing out anthems of Glory to the Highest. Our tongues worship our Dad who is not afraid to show His love. When we state that we don’t know how much God loves us or if he really does, open your eyes to His tears. God’s cry is for you.
Prayer isn’t murmuring a few words when troubles come. You’re talking to Almighty God, and your prayers mean so much! When the accuser hurls lies and you’re suddenly in a bad situation, do you cry out for prayer? Do you turn to others and in desperation, asked them to pray? I believe Christians aren’t the only ones who do. Prayer should surely be the first and most important reaction for those who do follow Christ when they’re hit with fiery darts.
This story is a beautiful example of God’s love for us. We are etched in the palm of His hands. The nails prove this. I bow down before you O Lord thankful for your love.
