Traditions can be a blessing when they encourage us to be thankful. A new tradition I started last New Year’s Day was inspired by Ann Voskamp’s memoir: One Thousand Gifts.
Our Words are Very Important. They’re creative. Every single one we speak goes forever forth.
Our Father created everything by His spoken Words. Scripture reports, “And God said . . .” But man, He fashioned from the dust of the earth in His own image. We are like Him. We look like Him, and He gave us the ability to speak words that create like His. Our words always mean something. None are too insignificant to matter.
Are you a good example?
I can see your wheels turning, and you are wondering “an example for what?” I’d answer, “For living a good Christian life.” Do you walk the walk seven days per week or just barely limp a weak walk? Can your children, family, and friends see Christ and hear His words through your words and actions? Or are you different at church than the rest of the week?
Are you missing a loved one at Christmas? One who has gone on to be with the Lord in heaven? Focus on the birth of the Babe in the manger, God’s gift to mankind. Let Jesus Christ bring you comfort and joy on this special day.
