The non-fiction came about as I shared stories of birds or other critters, that God used to teach me a Scriptural truth. When He sent me a gravely injured hummingbird, who I name Oscar, my friends not only wanted to hear about him, they encouraged me to write the stories.
Paul understood we can’t focus on our circumstances. He encouraged his readers to give thanks for everything. Everything? Yes, everything. So how did he do that when he suffered hardships? He understood giving thanks is the will of God for us.
It seems there was some reason to put a candle under a bushel. Otherwise, the people wouldn’t be able to relate. It isn’t hard to light a candle, after all. There would be a fire burning from which a flame could be used to bring light to the building.
