I love God’s divine appointments and plans and the way He goes about their execution. It’s hardly ever in the manner we might expect.

Sandy Barela with Celebrate Lit

Speaking of divine appointments, as a servant in this most awesome Christian publishing community I’ve become a part of, I came across a post about a new company called Celebrate Lit. Its founder sought Christian authors to promote their books with her through blog tours and Facebook parties.

With a heart to help others succeed, I clicked SHARE. I wanted to help spread the word and get authors to support her new venture. Through that random act, Almighty God gave me a dear new sister in Sandy Barela, and we’ve been loving on each other and helping each other ever since!

“Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.” Proverbs 27:9

As an author, I’m always pleased to be asked to guest on a reviewer’s blog. They usually ask some fun, probing questions which I candidly answer. Recently–another divine appointment–a lady left a longer-than-usual comment saying my stories sounded so interesting and then invited me to her upcoming Open House and Authors’ Event at Her Majesty’s English Tea Room. Discovering it’s in Dunlap, Illinois, I figured it’d be a no-go. My dearest husband is rarely interested in me going downtown to sell books!

You could have sent me skittering across the pond like a dandelion tuft with the smallest puff when he answered, “Sure, we can go.”

I so look forward to going on April 23rd and meeting Jacqueline Fairchild in person and sharing some ‘high tea’! I hope if you’re close to Peoria (the big city Dunlap’s by) you’ll stop in Sunday afternoon from noon until four o’clock to see me! I’d LOVE to meet YOU in person, too!

At Heart"wings" Blog, Caryl McAdoo shares a few divine appointments and discusses God's unexpected blessings.

Then there’s the Heart”wings” story of Joyce and me which you can read here: BLOG at Heart”wings” stands for Bless the Lord Our God, and so very many more. And Judy Levine, the gifted painter who created the art for the book covers in my Biblical fiction series The Generations. She and Joyce both live in Arizona and though we’ve never met face-to-face, I love them both dearly!

And take Holly Michael! I met this fellow author at ACFW, actually before the 2013 conference on the ‘Newbie Loop’—as neither of us had ever gone before. We became fast sister-friends, and on our soon-coming trip to Illinois, Ron and I are stopping at her house in Kansas City for a visit, so the trip will be a double blessing!

“A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24

So dear readers, be open to the unexpected divine appointments the Lord has in store and thankful for those God brings into your life as a new blessing. Nurture the budding relationship, sharing your time and whatever resources you have—knowledge, finances, networks. A lady can never have too many girlfriends (or sisters), so be watching for every gift He has planned!

Won’t you share a recent divine appointment and how it blessed you?
